Introducing Atlas Broker – 1 July 2020!
We are excited to announce that Atlas Broker will replace Atlas Equipment Finance, Plus 61 Insurance and Plus 61 Finance from 1 July 2020. It will be the same service, the same staff and the same level of care as Atlas Equipment Finance and Plus 61, just a new name.
Atlas Equipment Finance opened its doors in November 2011 with four directors, one part time staff member (who is still with us) and very little clue how to run a business. What we did know was how to broker equipment finance deals, and we quickly became one of the fastest growing equipment finance broking businesses in the country.
In 2017, after many requests from our community, we decided to open our mortgage and insurance broking businesses. We were continually frustrated by turnaround times and lack of service our clients received when referred elsewhere, so we decided to do it ourselves.
That’s when Plus 61 was born. The name came because we wanted to demonstrate our national client base, and wanted an innovative way to do it. This was consistent with our values of innovation, integrity, caring, bravery and respect. The Plus 61 brand quickly grew and we now have a number of clients taking advantage of the various services we offer.
In 2019, we continued our expansion with the acquisition of the Bridgecoast Finance Group in Gosford, NSW. Bridgecoast is a great business built by a fantastic team over 30+ years, and it complimented Atlas and Plus 61 perfectly. We now have people in Greater Sydney, Byron Bay, Brisbane, and Melbourne with clients and referral partners all over the country. We have high hopes for the coming years and expect more acquisitions such as Bridgecoast… watch this space!
In June 2020, our insurance business made the decision to align ourselves with the McLardy McShane aggregation group. We believe this will enable us to improve our client’s experience due to the improved systems and support we will enjoy. We are still part of the Steadfast Group so our access to market leading products doesn’t change, but the level of service will be even better than before.
Atlas, Plus 61 and our staff are proud to have been nominated for awards (and won!) in the equipment finance and mortgage space, but recognise that the most important role we play is to ensure those in our community succeed. If we are invisible in a deal, but we have played a part in helping our clients get what they need to succeed, then we have done our job well. Our ability to work in the background with our clients, referrers and funders to ensure they achieve their goals is one of our key points of difference.
